Remembering Rizal (Narrative Essay)
Jose Rizal was born on June 19, 1861. He was a Filipino nationalist and reformist. He is considered a national hero of the Philippines. He was wrongly implicated as the leader of the Katipunan Revolution, and that led to his execution on December 30, 1986, and now celebrated as Rizal Day, a national holiday in the country.
Batang Rizal occurred during their celebration of Buwan ng Wika. Pepito is faced with a big problem, he must find a way to replace his broken statue of the national hero, the monument of Jose Rizal. And with the help of a mysterious book, Pepito went to the past and there he met the Child Rizal, Pepe, in Calamba, Laguna.
Batang Rizal started at exactly 2pm. I was really impressed with the actors and actresses because they really memorize their lines. But in the middle of the play, I felt sleepy as well maybe I'm bored. And it's the funny at all, I woke up and I was so shocked because of an actor suddenly appeared on the side where we are sitted. And since then, i'm not sleepy again and i continue watching the play.
The play "Batang Rizal" became effective way, for we to remember the lives of our national hero. It provides the importance of simplicity and reminds us that we should be proud of being a Filipino. Everyone can become a hero as long as they all have a good manners, a love of country and doing the simple things that help others. Our views and behaviors is the way to be a loyal and committed in order to provide Filipinos love our country.
